SETH ANDERSON-OBERMAN
for 8th District City Council
Black working-class union organizer, public school parent, and lifelong Germantown resident running to build power with neighbors across Northwest & North Philadelphia. Seth has been helping workers and neighbors build power for 30 years. A union organizer for the past 24 years, Seth has fought alongside workers by demanding fair wages, healthcare and safe working environments. Seth has been an activist since he was in college, where he helped lead protests against union-busting and community displacement in North Philadelphia. His more recent activism includes co-founding the Philadelphia Labor for Black Lives Coalition and fostering youth-led activism as a member of the Board of Directors for the Philadelphia Student Union.
Now running for the 8th district of City Council to represent North and Northwest Philadelphia, Seth is helping his neighbors build power in their community. We are building a coalition to fight for a new approach to community safety, housing justice for all, fully funded public schools, and equitable community investment. We believe that local government is something we do together, and that’s why we want the 8th district to have accountable, transparent, and bold leadership that cares about every community, every block, and every neighbor.
